AC/DC - EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best
9. For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) (1981)
Brain Johnson’s second outing with the band, For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) was another smash hit for the band after the success of 1980’s Back in Black. The album certainly continues the same power as its predecessor with a selection of great tracks.
For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) is the last album from AC/DC’s classic era, and is generally considered a fan favourite. The album was the bands first to top the US Album charts, something that wouldn’t be repeated until 2008’s Black Ice.
The title track, For Those About to Rock (We Salute You), has become a staple track for all rock fans. For the song, AC/DC takes the best learned lesson from classical composer Tchaikovsky: Cannon’s are most certainly an instrument. The song is an iconic fixture in the setlist of any AC/DC live performance.
While the album does feature a wide selection of good album tracks, none of them are truly as strong as For Those About to Rock (We Salute You). Despite this, some stand out album tracks include Inject the Venom, I Put the Finger on You, Night of the Long Knives and Snowballed.
