All Gorillaz Albums Ranked From Worst To Best

6. D-Sides

As the name suggests, the songs on the album D-Sides all B-sides, remixes, and bonus tracks recorded during the studio sessions for Demon Days. While this project is mostly a companion to Demon Days and around half of the songs are remixes, it has enough original songs included to be considered a full album, and is listed as such on the band's official Spotify page.

The originals on D-Sides sadly fail to impress all that much. There are a few outstanding catchy tunes like People and Spitting Out The Demons, but for most of the album, the vocals are quiet and drained out by the highly experimental beats.

It is nice to see Gorillaz leaning more into the punk side of electronic music. We Are Happy Landfill is a profoundly chilling electric punk song that shows off the best of this style. Perhaps if the band were to revisit this particular style today, they'd be able to pull it off more effectively. As far as D-Sides is concerned though, the original songs included are ambitious and unique and the remixes are fun, but the album lacks the polish of their others.
