Alter Bridge: 10 Tracks You Need To Call Yourself A Fan

9. Isolation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pnlm1Ky_sA When Michael Caine first uttered those immortal words about not "blowing the bloody doors off!", Alter Bridge weren't listening. As such, Isolation was the first single from their third album AB III, a positively furious-sounding riff that remains my personal favourite song. Myles contributes one of the biggest, most easily-remembered and chant-able choruses of his career, and the entire thing features the band firing on all cylinders, out to show not only could they nail a sophomore album, but they weren't even beginning to show signs of slowing down for a third. Why you need it: It's their first no.1 single. That intro riff is like Andre the Giant slapping Goliath, but the track was so successful it helped get Alter Bridge into stadiums and onto Jimmy Kimmel, spending five weeks at the top of the active rock radio chart, and seven reigning over the Hard Rock chart. That, is how it's done.
