Alter Bridge: The Last Hero - 13 Tracks Reviewed & Ranked
3. Losing Patience
There's a great line from Dave Grohl on Foo Fighters' documentary, Back and Forth, where he's talking about writing Enough Space, and wanting to put something together that would just make people bounce.
You feel it in Rage Against the Machine's Sleep Now in the Fire or Deftones' Swerve City - sometimes, you just know a given song is going to levitate a few building's worth of people when played live.
Losing Patience is such a song, its opening fuzzy riff almost having a djent feel, before one of the best choruses on the entire album whisks you away for the duration.
Seriously, I LOVE this track, it became one of three that I rotated through for quite some time after listening to the whole album. It's simply that well written.
Listen out for: The almost haunting background vocals Myles applies to the chorus. It gives the composition and everything he's saying a great sense of weight and purpose.
