Alter Bridge: The Last Hero - 6 Things We Learned From The Cover Art

2. Cry Of Achilles' Art Style & Themes Were Just The Beginning

Speaking of Cry of Achilles', its official music video split the fanbase right down the middle. Some loved its Samurai Jack-meets-Tomm Moore's Secret of Kells' style, and others... didn't.

Alas, at the heart of the video was a tale of one person defending their city from a large, seemingly unstoppable invader - which immediately sounds similar to the whole 'Battle of Thermopylae' thing from earlier. Plus, just take a second to think about why you love hard rock, heavy metal and everything Alter Bridge-related - it's all-things epic, sweeping, enrapturing and engaging, right?

Myles, Mark, Flip and Brian all grew up when the likes of Metallica, Maiden, Ozzy and Dio ruled the world, and you need only scratch the surface of their lyrics to uncover a whole world of heavy metal fantasy.

The Last Hero most likely takes the ideology behind this fictional warrior story and makes it a full album. There's every chance we'll see more animated videos coming out as the band release their singles, so even if you didn't like Cry of Achilles' aesthetic, just think of it as a first step to something even greater.
