Arctic Monkeys: 10 Essential B-Sides Every Fan Must Hear

1. Stop the World I Wanna Get Off With You

(2013) A friend once commented that AM would bag bonus points if its single nondescript entry ('I Want it All') was bumped in favour of this, and I'd be inclined to agree. Awkward title aside, 'Stop the World I Wanna Get Off With You' is a terrific modern addition to the Monkeys' canon; its meaty thump perfectly supplementing tracks like 'Do I Wanna Know?' and 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?'. The faint chirrups of guitar which ease themselves into the background add some nice texture behind that rigid, militaristic stomp, and there's another fun outing for the falsetto flourishes of Helders and O'Malley. Replete with a freewheeling solo and some classic AM-brand lustiness, 'Stop the World I Wanna Get Off With You' encapsulates everything that the Monkeys currently represent, and has already transcended its B-side status to become a firm favourite among fans.
