Download Festival 2015: 11 Heavy Tracks Muse Need To Play

3. The Handler

Despite being a complex concept album (what else would you expect?), Drones marks a shift back to more focussed material for Muse and a very welcome embrace of their older musical behaviour.

That much is very clear on The Handler, which could almost sit shoulder to shoulder with its older brothers on Origin Of Symmetry. This is definitely the heaviest the band have been in a good while, and that is definitely good news.

Given the newness of Drones, they're obligated to play some of it at Donington, and while making the album the focus of their set, picking out the best and the heaviest (for that read the least silly) tracks from it makes a lot of sense.
