Eminem: 10 Most Overrated Songs
7. Beautiful
This song feels like it should've been the B-side to When I'm Gone, but with that songs flawless depiction of a man struggling to cohere to the most important facet of his life, his family, and announcing his retirement in hopes of repairing what was broken in his personal life, Beautiful feels like the aftermath of trying to repair both his rap career and the aforementioned, with the song severely suffering as a result.
The most depressive melody, lyrics and idea for a song which unfortunately nestles into the mind of listeners due to its fairly catchy hook, Beautiful is an amalgamation of all of Eminem's worst qualities.
The self-loathing, the hopelessness in his voice, and the idea that nothing will bring him happiness in life other than the rap career that he's slowly falling away from is just spirit-crushing. It's so disheartening to fans to know that the same guy who was once making songs like The Real Slim Shady and Without Me could fall this far down the spiral. Even Like Toy Soldiers - which was a song about gang violence and the resulting deaths of those around Slim - was not anywhere near as depressing as this.
