Eminem: 10 Most Overrated Songs
8. Just Lose It
It was easy to see why Eminem went on what was supposed to be a permanent hiatus following the release of his not so seminal album Encore during the mid-2000s. If the song FACK didn't prove that Eminem was quickly running out of ideas, then this one definitely does. Just Lose It commercially exceeded expectations and even reached number one in a few countries despite its lacklustre lyrics and lack of a chorus, but just to clarify, Eminem was completely untouchable within the zeitgeist at this time. He could've recorded a three minute long fart and it would have sold.
He might as well have.
Just Lose it is an appropriate title, because it sounds like it entails Eminem's inner tumultuous feelings at the time. Even if it was a cathartic release of inhibitions that the rapper felt at that point, he could've done a lot better than this.
The Michael Jackson jokes were outdated even then, the juvenile humour and straight up offensive punchlines with neither no setup nor commentary felt tired and contrived and the biggest offender, the chorus - or lack thereof - was just Eminem saying Just Lose It with a couple of seconds of screaming proceeding it. It was painfully unfunny and listening to it today is as monotonous as it is unnecessary.
