Eminem: 10 Most Overrated Songs
2. Space Bound
The titular Space Bound, just like the album it was featured on, is an overrated, too tonally serious and overall pleasure devoid, embarrassing amplification of nothing but sheer misery from a once highly admired musician. Obviously in Eminem's decadent, vastly decorated career, it's assured that at least a few songs would considerably slip away from his high standards, but this one simply didn't even deserve the airplay it received at the time. It shouldn't have even been released as a single, never mind charted.
The song is the atypical sort of rap song, which should be an indication of the mundanity to come as Eminem didn't make average rap music until then. The productions fine, not sumptuous but competent. The lyrics, contrarily, are laughable.
With the now infamous - "Cause I've been treated like dirt befo' ya And love is evol. Spell it backwards, I'll show ya." - exemplifying one of, if not, Eminem's biggest blunder, as well as being one of the most witless lines in all of music. It's hard to believe it came from the same brain as Stan, Business and The Real Slim Shady.
You can get away with rhyming oranges and syringes Mathers, but love is not evil backwards sir.
