Every Arctic Monkeys Single Ranked Worst To Best

24. Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair

If the Arctic Monkeys wanted to make one thing clear with Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair, it’s that they will never be the kind of band to do the same thing twice. This was the first single from their 4th album Suck It and See and an enormous shift away from everything that people knew about the Sheffield band.

The song takes the band into stoner territories, amped up by the psychedelia and distordion of the music video, it’s uber dark and dripping in grunge. The guitars are properly dirty as they storm through a low riff that continues throughout with bluntness.

Despite how interesting this single is, the band had (and would) go on to record even more striking pieces of experimentation. They’d plunge deeper into themes of drugs, make weightier songs and manage to turn them into tracks that would send millions of people crazy in their live shows.
