Every Bob Dylan Album Ranked Worst To Best

33. Knocked Out Loaded (1986)

The 80s were a rough time for Bob Dylan, who struggled both professionally and commercially, and Knocked Out Loaded represents much of went wrong with his work.

With unengaging lyrics, clunky production values and a sense that Dylan himself doesn't entirely want to be there, the album meanders through a number of deflating tunes, before attempting to regain some praise with the undeniably great (and bonkers) Brownsville Girl, which he wrote with actor and playwright Sam Shepard.

That one epic song keeps Knocked Out Loaded from scoring any lower on this list, but there's no denying the rest of the record is a disappointing dud.
