Every David Bowie Album Ranked Worst To Best (By Guitar Power)

23. The Next Day (2013)

The penultimate Bowie album had critics in a lather, with ‘return to form’ plaudits dispensed as if they were being sponsored to deliver a cliché.

The reality is that yet again there was an album that had built hopes up to fever pitch when it appeared unexpectedly, but that didn’t come close to matching the hype.

A few decent tracks and some input from long-time guitarist Earl Slick couldn’t save this album from ending up as a thoroughly underwhelming entry into the Bowie canon.
