Every Green Day Album Closing Song Ranked From Worst To Best

7. Ordinary World - Revolution Radio

Four years after their 2012 trilogy, Green Day put out Revolution Radio, an album that performed well both critically and commercially.

After about 40 minutes of rip-roaring rockers, the album closes on a soft acoustic ballad about Billie Joe wanting to find extraordinary things in an... Ordinary World.

But you could have probably worked that out for yourself.

Not a technical masterpiece by any stretch, Ordinary World still tugs at the heartstrings through its stripped-back sound and the choice to spotlight Armstrong's beautiful singing voice. It's not quite Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), but it's in the same ballpark.

The frontman sounds at his very best here, helping to deliver what could have been considered cliched lines with an air of authenticity.

Ordinary World works well as a standalone song, but in its context as an album closer, it does a fantastic job in wrapping a calming bow around a tumultuous collection of songs.
