Every Green Day Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

5. Warning - Warning

In October 2000, Green Day put out Warning, the last album before their lives would change forever.

More on that in a little bit.

Though it wasn't the industry-shifter that was to come, Warning was still a fine album that gave fans the songs Minority, Waiting, and the title track, which came about when Armstrong decided he wanted to write a song using only words found on warning labels.

This resulted in lines like "Keep out of reach of children/Don't you talk to strangers" and "Sanitation, expiration date, question everything/Or shut up and be a victim of authority", neat quips about the way in which certain people blindly follow orders.

Warning's bouncy faux-pop riff can get a bit grating after a while, but it fits the flippant tone of the song nicely. It's yet another example of the band growing as songwriters, with their biggest leap forward just around the corner.
