Every Iron Maiden Album Closing Song Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Fear Of The Dark - Fear Of The Dark

Had Bruce Dickinson not returned to Iron Maiden for Brave New World, this would have been his final song with the group. As sad as that would have been, it would have been a hell of a way to go out.

Fear of the Dark, taken from the 1992 album of the same name, was written by Steve Harris, who's actually afraid of the dark. Turns out he is human after all.

A rapid-fire riff, bass as thick as double cream, and Dickinson on fine, screechy form, there's a reason that Fear of the Dark has become such a staple of Maiden's repertoire. It's a classic through and through, even if it wasn't actually Bruce's swansong.
