Every Iron Maiden Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Caught Somewhere In Time - Somewhere In Time

The band's sixth album, Somewhere in Time, was recorded following a almost year-long tour that left the band physically and mentally drained. So, obviously they opened the thing up with a seven-and-a-half minute epic.

Caught Somewhere in Time features some of Bruce's most insane vocals, as he's in full-on warble mode, teetering very close to the edge of silly. Thankfully, the rest of the song is so ridiculously good, that this doesn't matter at all.

The gallop is back and in full force, keeping everyone's heart rates nice and high through the duration of the song. It's also still got that slightly buzzy, crunchy 80s production on it that all the best Maiden songs do.

In short, Caught Somewhere in Time is a classic, and more than worthy of opening this album.
