Every Muse Album Ranked Worst To Best
1. Black Holes and Revelations
After four albums across 8 years, it had all been building to this. Across their previous records, Muse had been experimenting with their songwriting techniques, often to great effect. Here is where they took their space rock and prog rock ambitions and pumped them up to arena size.
The band's ability at writing slowburns culminated in their greatest ballad in "Starlight." Other songs like "Assassin" and "Supermassive Black Hole" bring together riffs that will leave many budding guitarists dumbfounded. We even see the band's early flirtations with electronic music on "Map of the Problematique," whose manic synths compliment the band instrumentation perfectly.
The record also contains what may very well be Muse's greatest epic, "Knights of Cydonia." This track shows how talented Muse are at arranging a song in such the way that makes the listener feel like they've just watched a movie in their mind. If you're into Muse or are even mildly curious about this band, this record has got you covered for any kind of track you'd want to hear. A masterpiece of the prog-rock genre along with being one of the greatest rock albums to come out in the 21st century.
