Every Papa Roach Album Ranked From Worst To Best
3. Lovehatetragedy
Contrary to popular belief, 'Infest' is not Papa Roach's most successful album in terms of chart performance, despite being their best selling record. Although the band's breakthrough album which featured the likes of 'Last Resort' and 'Between Angels & Insects' was a cornerstone of the nu metal scene, it was initially outdone by its overlooked predecessor, 'lovehatetragedy'.
Released in 2002, the band's third album had big boots to fill, but it performed to an exceptional standard nonetheless. Spearheaded by the lead single, 'She Loves Me Not', this record was immediately off to a promising start. 'She Loves Me Not' peaked at 14th in the UK singles chart and is still the band's second biggest UK chart single. The album itself then went to reached #4 in the UK albums chart, while it also reached the top 5 in the United States, Canada, Belgium and Switzerland.
'Lovehatetragedy' maintains the strong, influential nu metal sound that was established by 'Infest' through songs such as 'Time and Time Again', while other inclusions such as 'M-80' hinted at the band's impending transition into rock. Other key songs include 'Walking Thru Barbed Wire', 'Code of Energy' and perhaps the most overlooked song in Papa Roach's entire catalogue, 'Singular Indestructible Droid'.
