Every Papa Roach Album Ranked From Worst To Best
8. F.E.A.R
Papa Roach used their 2012 album, 'The Connection' as a stepping stone album to travel from the realms of gritty hard rock into crisp radio rock; a transition which was completed by 'F.E.A.R' in 2015. Throughout their storied career, Jacoby Shaddix and company have undergone a number of changes, with this album marking a shift into a relatively short-lived stage of atmospheric, radio friendly production mixed with softer sounding songs.
Although the album sold well upon release, it received widely differing verdicts from music critics. Cryptic Rock gave it a perfect 10, while Metacritic judged it a lowly score of 58/100, making it Papa Roach's second lowest scored album on the website. Regardless of overall criticisms for the record, there seems to be nothing but praise on display for the single, 'Gravity', which featured In This Moment's Maria Brink and is consistently considered the band's best ballad.
Interestingly, 'F.E.A.R' was the band's first album to perform better in the UK than it did the United States, becoming Papa Roach's most successful UK album chart entry since 'Lovehatetragedy' 13 years prior. At present, the songs of 'F.E.A.R' have gathered nearly a quarter of a billion Spotify streams and continue to rise every day.
