Every Queen Album Closing Song Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Seven Seas Of Rhye - Queen II

Thank God that Queen decided to add some words to that limp instrumental from their first album, as this gave them something to play when they were offered the chance to go on Top of the Pops in 1974.

Their performance of the full version of Seven Seas of Rhye was so popular that it was quickly released as a single, which prompted the decision to add it onto the end of Queen II.

The gulf in quality between Seven Seas version 1 and 2 is astonishing. The playful lyrics only elevate this happy tune, with Mercury belting out nonsense words about lords, ladies, and Caesar.

Seven Seas of Rhye's success prompted Mercury to go full-time with music, so, in a way, this was the song that started it all for Queen. If that doesn't say it all, then what does?
