Every Queen Album Opening Song Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Radio Ga Ga - The Works

After Brian and Roger got annoyed at being left off Hot Space, a compromise was made to create an album that mixed the previous record's electronic sound with Taylor and May's good ol' fashion rock sensibilities.

That mission statement can be felt on the very first track off 1984's The Works; the legendary Radio Ga Ga.

A love letter to the wireless, Radio Ga Ga sounds like it's from a distant future where music is made entirely by robots. Soaring synths and bubbling hooks carry Mercury's impassioned cries neatly on their backs with a groove so infectious that you cannot listen to this song without at least bobbing your shoulders.

The honesty in Freddie' voice when he sings about the radio cannot be ignored, tying together what is a beautiful ode to a underappreciated art form.
