Grammys 2013: Winners We'd Like To See

Best Rap Performance: N****S In Paris- Jay-Z & Kanye West http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK9rSB2K_sM Remember my theory about songs inspiring huge amounts of memes back when I wrote the €œDrake€™s Best Work of 2012€ article? Well it still applies here. Anytime a song inspires as many memes as this song did, big time consideration is deserved. But on a serious note, this is just classic Jay-Z and Kanye West work: great beat, great flows, and the switch off verses work perfectly. Plus, we already saw this formula work when €œOtis€ won the €œBest Rap Performance€ category last year. Interestingly, both Kanye and Jay-Z are nominated twice in this category. Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJt7gNi3Nr4 No Church In The Wild- Jay-Z & Kanye West Feat. Frank Ocean Back to my €œKanye and Jay-Z is obviously a Grammy winning combination€ talk, and in case you were wondering, adding Frank Ocean makes the pick even easier. Best Rap Song: Young, Wild & Free- Wiz Khalifa & Snoop Dogg Feat. Bruno Mars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa5B22KAkEk I really don€™t expect this track to win the award, but I would love it to. This song came with a €œYOLO€ message that didn€™t inspire endless amounts of morons to do stupid things in its€™ name. One problem I have with this track winning, though, is that it isn€™t exactly a €œRap€ song. I guess I€™d call it closer to hip-pop (you read that right) than anything else, but if it€™s in the category, I want it to win. Bruno Mars did a sensational job on the hook, and the classically laid-back rhymes from Snoop Dogg (er€ Lion) and smooth-flowing vocals from Wiz Khalifa helped to make this my category winner. Best Rap Album: Take Care- Drake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3HCDwDSzO0 I shouldn€™t even have to write anything here. €œTake Care€ was a nearly perfect album in every way imaginable: every hook was on point, every verse flowed perfectly, there were original concepts throughout the whole album, and even Drake€™s punch lines showed improvement. It definitely doesn€™t hurt that €œTake Care€ sold over 631,000 copies during its€™ first week out even after leaking about a week before the release date. Drake does literally everything you can think of that is important in a rap album better (or at least close to better) than anybody else on the nominee list. Can€™t wait for his next. Another note: It would appear from reading this article that I'm not much of a Fun. fan, as I didn't have them winning one award in this article. That isn't the case at all, as a matter of fact, I really do like their music. The problem in this situation is that they ran into a couple of my favorite artists in these categories. In reality, I expect them to win at least two awards, and they'll be very well-deserved.
