Hugh Laurie And 5 Other Incredible Actor/Musicians

5. Justin Timberlake

Justin€™s career was unusually split between acting and singing from the off, singing country music on Star Search at the age of 11 before appearing as part of The Mickey Mouse Club with future bandmate JC Chasez (and the aforementioned Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling!) After this, Justin became known globally as part of €˜N Sync and appeared in Disney Channel€™s movie Model Behaviour before launching his hugely successful solo singing career which was once punctuated with a hiatus so he could focus on acting. Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds were both massive pop/r&b records, giving JT a more mature look after the disbanding of €˜N Sync and encompassing loads of huge singles that we still love now, including Cry Me A River, Senorita and Sexy Back. He even sealed his fame when McDonald€™s used his I€™m Lovin€™ It motif, making sure millions around the world knew that voice. Despite saying in 2006 that leaving the music industry for acting would be €œa dumb thing to do at this point€, he soon did just that. JT€™s acting career has had mixed results, although people generally consider him a success. Although he got involved in some films that shouldn€™t have been touched with a 50 foot bargepole, namely The Love Guru, others were middling but enjoyable to watch, particularly his vocal contribution to Shrek the Third and In Time, and Friends With Benefits was one of the best romcoms of recent years because it was pure fun (and featured JT singing Kriss Kross' Jump in a wonderful crossover moment!) However, it€™s for The Social Network that he€™ll be best remembered, a film which won a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture and allowed him to play a serious role with his own personal touch. With this the year of The 20/20 Experience, with part 2 and a world tour still to come, it seems that Justin Timberlake can do no wrong. It remains to be seen if he€™ll be back into the acting world anytime soon, but I doubt he€™ll be able to stay away for long.
