Kings Of Leon: Ranking Their Albums From Worst To Best

4. Mechanical Bull

Kings Of Leon's most recent album, 2013's Mechanical Bull, was a massive improvement on Come Around Sundown. It had variety, with songs like 'Beautiful War' and 'Tonight' appealing to newer fans and others like 'Don't Matter' and 'Family Tree' bringing back the fans of the first albums. The band also sound technically tighter than they ever have, playing some fantastic riffs.

The real highlight is single 'Temple', which manages to take aspects from all parts of the career and mix them into one 4 minute track. It's catchy melody and chorus make the song a hit, and if you listen closely,is that the faintest sound of Aha Shake Heartbreak coming back? NME described the song as 'the best thing that band had written in five years'.

But, unfortunately the album suffers from the same problem so many other albums have suffered from; the second half doesn't live up to the standard of the first. Up to 'Family Tree', the album is a great record, but the last 4 tracks, and 'Beautiful War' from the first half, hold the album back. But, there are more great songs on this album than its predecessors to make it an overall, stronger effort.

Highlights: 'Temple','Don't Matter', 'Rock City'
