Lady Gaga: 10 Most Outrageous Outfits
7. Red Lace Body Suit Worn at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards the red lace body suit was designed by the late Alexander McQueen. The lace crown was made by the Haus of Gaga in order to match the body suit. This outfit is worn by Gaga while seated in the audience and when she accepted the award for "Best New Artist VMA" for "Poker Face." This body suit was one of a total of five different outfits worn on the night. Gaga adored McQueen's designs and she was often seen wearing his commonly controversial creations (what a fitting partnership). The body suit was taken from Alexander McQueen's controversial Fall/Winter 1998 Ready To Wear "Joan" collection which was inspired by the legendary murder of the Russian Romanov dynasty. The collection features chain mail, red leather and pictures of the Romanov children, the show ended with a red swathed model, her face concealed, surrounded by a Dante-esque ring of fire.
