LGBTQ+ Band Members For Pride Month

A prominent female frontwoman in the rock/ alternative scene, Gunn has spoken about her sexuality frequently but rarely ever makes it the whole point of the conversation. This is because Gunn has said that "First and foremost I want to be known as is an artist and creative before anything else" and that her sexuality "Is the last thing to check off that list".

The main reason Gunn has been so open about her sexuality is so that her fans have someone to look up to. At first, she wanted to keep her sexuality a more private part of her life but decided it was important to speak about it. She hopes to be someone that her fans, who might be struggling to come to terms with their own sexuality, can look up to as an openly gay person.; showing them it's okay to be whoever they are.

She worked with Billboard and GLAAD in 2017 sharing her coming out story for National Coming Out Day and giving advice on coming out for those struggling. Reminding viewers there's no right or wrong time to come out it's all about when you feel most comfortable, reassuring them that things will get better and when they do decide to come out they'll be met with love.
