Marilyn Manson: EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best

6. The Pale Emperor

As a nod to David Bowie's "The Thin White Duke," The Pale Emperor saw Manson return to the scene with a great new sound, finally finding a balance between the new, more polished sound of The Golden Age of Grotesque and the dirty, controversial sounds of Antichrist Superstar. This was also the album where Marilyn Manson really became a one-man show, with the band's line-up completely decimated.

With Tyler Bates in his corner for the first time, Manson created some of the best anthems of his later career, including the moody synth-rock anthem "Third Day of a Seven Day Binge" and the John Wick tune "Killing Strangers." Every song oozes that classic Manson menace, whilst showing the controversial frontman as a more mature but still twisted version of himself.

There are some slumps, such as the uninspired "Slave Only Dreams to Be King" and "Cupid Carries a Gun," but all told The Pale Emperor is a guaranteed future classic.

Best songs: Third Day of a Seven Day Binge, Deep Six, Killing Strangers, The Mephistopheles of Los Angeles
