Marilyn Manson: EVERY Album Ranked Worst To Best

4. Mechanical Animals

There's more Bowie in this record than any of Marilyn Manson's other projects, but it would be unfair to cast it aside as simply a synth-inspired homage to Manson's biggest influence. Polished, jazzy, and endless weird, Mechanical Animals focuses on gender relations, drug abuse, sex and glam rock, and balances its many themes with ease.

With some of Manson's most iconic tunes - "I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me)," "Great Big White World" - the record shows Manson to be a lot more than the angsty, energetic rebel of his previous albums, but a committed and passionate artist with a lot to say about the world and people.

The themes pop, the fusion of genres shine with every track, and though it falls short of the next three spots, Mechanical Animals is nonetheless a truly great rock album.

Best Songs: I Don't Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me), Coma White, Great Big White World
