Mark Tremonti: 10 Brutally Heavy Riffs You Need To Hear

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2NOSJ5TYCQ The first on this list from his solo album, this brilliant track was actually written by Mark when he was 16 - yet didn't get the full-on studio treatment until 2012 where the added talents of Whitlock and Eric Friedman on drums and rhythm guitar respectively took it to another level entirely. It's built on one of those simple-yet-effective chromatic descending patterns guys like Tony Iommi and Jerry Cantrell wrote some of the best riffs in history with, and here although the pace itself keeps it more in a thrash realm that those guys, Wish You Well just batters you mercilessly over the head with the full might of a great modern production firing on all cylinders.
