Metallica: Kill ‘Em All - Ranking Every Song Worst To Best
6. No Remorse
There aren't too many Metallica tracks from the '80s that could be considered underrated. Since this is the era of thrash metal that many people claim to be the greatest heavy music ever made, there isn't too much that hasn't already been said about Metallica's back catalog. If there were an undiscovered gem among the few though, it would have to be No Remorse.
Across all 6 minutes of this song, Metallica taught us all a lesson in band dynamics and how to work off each other. Outside of the intense speed and brutal riffs, the best thrash metal makes you groove, with the opening riff being a prime candidate to bang your head to right out of the gate. It might be tricky to get yourself acclimatized to it, but once you're locked in, it's one of the nastiest grooves that metal has to offer.
Aside from the amazing tempo, this is a great way to test your endurance for every guitar player. Being one of the many songs to feature mainly downstrokes from Mr. Hetfield, this is a great song to help build up your chops and move up and down the guitar neck while keeping the energy in your picking hand. It might be a simple thrash song, but the more you listen to it, the more you start to appreciate what it's doing.
