Mötley Crüe: Every Album Ranked Worst To Best

3. Too Fast For Love

The debut album for any band can be a bit tricky. Given that you don't have anything to go off of, it's anyone's guess as to whether the first step up to the plate will be successful right out of the gate or send you into obscurity. Everyone needs to start somewhere though...and Too Fast For Love showcased Motley Crue as LA's rabid dogs.

Just like the first Guns N Roses album in 1987, Too Fast For Love captures everything gritty, fun, and borderline dangerous about life on the Sunset Strip. From the moment this album starts with Live Wire, everyone is playing like they have everything to prove. Considering that this came out in the midst of the early '80s, Motley's first forays into rock were a sight to behold, as they inhabit these songs like some unholy amalgamation of KISS, Aerosmith, and the Sex Pistols all rolled into one.

Combined with the first Van Halen record from the late '70s, this is one of the few albums that you could say laid the foundation for all things hair metal, from the look to the riffs to the subtle mannerisms you would get from the guys onstage. Even though Motley Crue would get more polish later down the line, the manic energy coming off of this record hasn't dulled since it was first released.
