Mötley Crüe: Every Album Ranked Worst To Best

4. Girls Girls Girls

By the time the Crue got to Girls Girls Girls, they needed somewhat of a course correction. Though the glossy sound of Theatre of Pain earned them one of the biggest songs of their career in Home Sweet Home, a lot of the hardcore metalheads were not as keen on the new glam look they had taken on. Instead of just going further down the hair metal rabbit hole, this album was the return to form that many needed to see.

Throwing down their silly makeup and hairspray, this record brought these guys back to their roots as a musical street gang, complete with some of the most infectious choruses on songs like the title track. There is also a little bit more emotional potency on this record, with the snippet Nona being a tribute to Nikki Sixx's grandmother.

Above all, this record shows Motley to be a great live band, even going so far as to include a live cover of Elvis Presley's Jailhouse Rock. From one song to the next, these tracks are meant to be played in stadiums, with the opener Wild Side being one of the greatest singles they have ever released, complete with a blues breakdown played with a punk rock attitude. After a few years of trying to work it out, Girls Girls Girls reminded us that Motley Crue is a product of the streets, not the label.
