3. The Band Didn’t Want Anyone To Interfere With The Session
Few people outside of the band and producers were allowed in the studio sessions.
The band reportedly told Geffen Records and their management company Gold Mountain, they didn’t want anyone to intrude on the recording. The band went as far as to not play music for any representatives from their record label who visited the studio during those two weeks.
Steve Albini even adopted a strict policy, not speaking to anyone else outside of the band to avoid any interference with the recording. The band was eager to make their most raw record yet.
