Oasis: Ranking Every Album From Worst To Best
4. Be Here Now (1997)
The shelf life of this record has been a bit rocky to say the least. It was heralded as Oasis' greatest work upon release, but is now executed as being one of the Gallaghers' worst musical moments. The verdict? It's just somewhere in the middle.
The Gallaghers' overusing drugs definitely had an impact on the album, from many uninspired moments to the album's insanely long runtime. But there are more bright spots than you probably remember. The group's identity is certainly there on songs like "My Big Mouth" and "It's Gettin Better (Man!!)," and they do perfect power pop on songs like "I Hope I Think I Know." One of the band's greatest ballads is even on this record, "Don't Go Away."
However, other mediocre songs and the runtime of this record prevent the album from being completely spectacular. A flawed album? Yes. Misguided? Absolutely. But this album has more than its fair share of high points
