Paramore: Every Album Ranked Worst To Best

2. After Laughter

The band’s latest album to date, ‘After Laughter’, was released in 2017 and saw a further departure from their emo, punk roots and delve deeper into a funky, new wave sound with this predominantly synth-pop album.

‘After Laughter’ felt like a reinvention of Paramore, but also felt like an honest album that stayed true enough to the bands established values to prevent any suggestions of selling out.

Another line-up change occurred prior to this album as Jeremy Davis once again departed and founding member Zac Farro returned on drums. It also saw Taylor York’s influence on the album grow, as he was a co-producer on the album.

The new direction that Paramore seem to be heading in after the release of ‘After Laughter’ may have upset some fans that fell in love with the bands early albums, but the critically acclaimed album was a fresh addition to the music charts and helped establish Paramore as one of the most dynamic bands around today.
