Paramore: Every Album Ranked Worst To Best

1. Brand New Eyes

Paramore’s ‘Brand New Eyes’, released in 2009, is the band’s most brutally honest and intriguing album to date and saw them evolve into a much more respected band by critics than they had been prior.

Teaming with legendary producer, Rob Cavallo gained the band a sense of credibility, particularly considering that Cavallo was just coming off the back of producing the incredibly successful ‘American Idiot’ and ‘The Black Parade’ albums for Green Day and My Chemical Romance respectively.

It also saw Paramore produce a more consistent collection of songs that largely dealt with the break-up of Hayley Williams and guitarist Josh Farro. The fact that the former couple had to work together on songs that directly addressed their failed relationship made for a morbidly fascinating interest in their album.

It can’t have been an easy process to create this album, but ‘Brand New Eyes’ contains many of Paramore’s strongest songs to date. From the aggressive and bitter sounds on ‘Ignorance’ to the soft and beautiful ‘The Only Exception’, the album’s eclectic mix of songs help reflect the complex emotions felt in dealing with relationships and break-ups.

‘Brand New Eyes’ marks the final chapter for the original incarnation of Paramore and is their most engaging and impressive collection of songs that the band have produced in their career so far.
