8. Crazy Mary

A cover of a Victoria Williams song, this became a staple at live shows for a long time and still appears from every once in a while. Crazy Mary appears on Sweet Relief: A Benefit for Victoria Williams (1993) in studio form, but its the live version that most fans will recognize. The two differ greatly, with an extended Boom Gasper (keys) and Mike McCready (lead guitar) dual solo raising the roof off of buildings on more than one occasion. The recorded version is much more laid back but is all the more haunting for it. Not the only cover song the band is known for, but it ranks as one of their best.
