http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnPhEfOclM8 Harvey originally burst on to the alternative scene in 1992 with a raw, punky debut, which remains as provocative and daring to this day. Harveys feministic undertones come across in tracks like Oh My Lover and Sheela-Na-Gig, as well as Dress - perhaps the strongest track on the album - whose driving beat sends the listeners blood pumping. Its clear without a doubt, that Harvey poured her heart and soul into this album. It is her as a young, aspiring artist who wanted to make the best record she could. Kurt Cobain loved this album, it featured on his Top 50 Albums Ever list, and its not hard to see why. With its lo-fi attitude and gritty vocals, it's a classic post-Nevermind album if there ever was one. It is for all these reasons and more, that I believe Dry to be PJ Harveys best album.
