PJ Harvey - Ranking Her Albums From Worst To Best

8. Dance Hall At Louse Point

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqxjsip6rTI Harvey€™s first collaboration with John Parish opens with the tender and haunting €˜Girl€™, which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Dance Hall at Louse Point is musically mellow, with a high presence of acoustic and soft electric guitars, however like most PJ Harvey releases, these burst out into spontaneous moments of passion and power. These moments are almost like echoes from Harvey€™s previous release To Bring You My Love, and act like a precursor to her later release Is This Desire? Dance Hall at Louse Point, while musically pleasant, almost feels like Harvey holding back, and while this may be the case, still has its moments of musical magic.
