Ranking All 13 Madonna Studio Albums From Worst To Best
10. Rebel Heart (2015)
Madonna's most recent work saw her collaborate with the likes of Kanye West and the late Avicii. However, she struggles in this album to keep cohesion and a creative direction.
Thematically, this album is a return to familiar aspects of Madonna's career, focussing on her romantic and rebellious sides, but the mixture of genres keeps the album from playing as well as it could.
Mixing in house, trap, and reggae music means there's a lot of experimentation and lots of variation, which sounds impressive, but in practice, it keeps the album disjointed.
Highlights include the featured artists Nicki Minaj and Chance the Rapper, and the singles 'Living For Love' and 'Bitch I'm Madonna', the latter of which has a suitably energetic music video to accompany the track. 'Iconic' is also a fun, with a strong "follow your dreams" message that suits Madonna, but the backing beat hinders the performance a little too much.
This album is closer to the Madonna that earned her Queen of Pop title, but still has a lot of flaws.
