Ranking All 9 Foo Fighters Studio Albums From Worst To Best
2. There Is Nothing Left To Lose (1999)
This third album served to solidify the Foo Fighters sound, build upon growing success, and launch the band in to a new era of stardom with Grammy success. The camaraderie of the group seeps through, and the basement-based recording makes the album feel tight and bursting with energy.
The album focused on melodies and some more experimental music, and also ushered in a new wave for the lineup, which now stood as a three-piece, and would feature drummer Taylor Hawkins on an album for the first time.
While these circumstances may sound tumultuous, the band couldn't have had a nicer time recording this album in Grohl's basement, giving them total freedom, allowing them to remain relaxed, and simply record the music they wanted to when they wanted to.
This resulted in some amazing tracks such as 'Stacked Actors', 'Breakout', and 'Learn to Fly', which have cemented the band's reputation. It's a follow up to the last album on this list, but by coming in second place, it serves as a worthy progression of the band's work and has just as much history and fan passion behind it to assure that 'There Is Nothing Left to Lose' will forever have a place in musical history.
