Ranking Every Paramore Album From Worst To Best

3. Paramore

A darker and heavier sound from the now three-piece, after both Farro brothers departed in 2010, as Paramore enter a new stage of their lives and into the Self-Titled Era. Hayley Williams stated that she was heavily inspired by the work of Blondie and Siouxsie and the Banshees during the writing process, which you can hear throughout the album.

This album had four singles, each one embracing a different tone of the album. 'Now' is a dark anthem about perseverance, while follow-up 'Still Into You' is the poppiest track on the record and one of the band's most popular songs. 'Daydreaming' is a slower song but a good solid ballad from the band that will get stuck in your head. Final single "Aint It Fun" does exactly what it says on the tin; it's fun, poppy, rocky and definitely something you want to dance to.

Lyrically the album is more mature than previous outings, with songs such as 'Proof' and 'Still Into You' going in-depth about being in love. 'Grow Up' highlights friendship and how sometimes you just outgrow the friends you had before. Opening track 'Fast In My Car' is a punky start to the album as a harder, grittier edge runs through the record, with moments of calm with songs such as 'Last Hope' and 'Hate To See Your Heart Break'.

'Anklebiters' wasn't an official single from the band but did get a music video, while the live version of 'Last Hope' from Reading/Leeds brought a new feel to the song. The extended version gave fans three new tracks and a re-record of "Hate To See Your Heart Break' with Joy Willimas, which is better than the original.
