Ranking Every Paramore Album From Worst To Best
1. After Laughter
Their most recent album is full of '80s-inspired bangers with lyrics that talk about mental health and the disillusion of singer Hayley Williams' marriage. A true combination of a break-up record and a party album, 'After Laughter' was a welcome change of pace for the punk-rock outfit, allowing for the band to explore new sounds as they approach 30.
In April 2017 the band released the lead single, 'Hard Times', which became the party anthem of the summer, mixing '80s electro beats, Synth-pop, and New Wave with a declaration of hope in the hard times we all go through in life contained in the lyrics. 'Hard Times' definitely set the tone for the sound and feel of the album that was released that May. The other singles on the album, 'Told You So', 'Fake Happy', 'Rose-Colored Boy', and 'Caught In The Middle' were strong songs that were catching summer tunes, but still with that heart we all know and love from Paramore.
Sometimes the singles are the best tracks on an album, but not with After Laughter. Here, every song is a banger. The only down point is 'No Friend', but at the same time, you can't count it out cause it's possibly the most experimental the band gets on the record, and that's saying something. 'Pool' and 'Grudges' were written by all three members, Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and a returning Zac Farro; one being a heartfelt message to the man Williams would eventually leave while the other talks about the importance of friendship and the joy that comes from reuniting. 'After Laughter' is by far the best album Paramore has ever produced.
