6. "Survival Of The Sickest" - Survival Of The Sickest
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icRL9f5hfec If there's one thing Saliva has proven during their illustrious career, it's how incorporated they've made their sound in the classic hard rock roots. Their adrenalized effort at producing and creating Survival Of The Sickest remains to this day as Saliva's most strategic and inventive sound, and today none of their material has ever come close to reaching that same benchmark. The same-title lead single off the album, "Survival Of The Sickest", is the pinnacle of Saliva's assimilation into the classic hard rock genre. In this article point, I will not describe the basic meaning of the song, but instead focus on the band as a whole. Because it's the band itself that holds "Survival Of The Sickest" in such high regards. In order for a song, let alone a single, to be successful the band must work as one communal group, building off of one another and performing their hears out for the love of the game. Saliva does exactly this, building off one another in their specific talents and skills and putting together a single that is worthy to be called a gratifying change in sound and a part of band companionship. "Survival Of The Sickest" is all about the band grasping their newfound sound as a group, not just from Josey Scott himself, which is sometimes the case. Put together to reveal its simple parts the song is a open declaration to every other band on the market, stating that Saliva is better than ever before and look to be the most sickest, hardest edge band out there, and that it's survival of the fittest, or sickest in Saliva's world. Now, on to the final 5.....
