5. "Rest In Pieces" - Back Into Your System
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMi9FoNZZtM If there's one thing readers will get from this article, it's that Saliva is a very touching and emotional band. Almost every other song on this list is something deep and internal within the heart, and usually deals with relationships and marital problems. There redundancy can be obvious, but each one exemplifies a particular element that boosts Saliva's willingness to produce content for the fans to connect and relate to. "Rest In Pieces", the ultimate emotional tool in Saliva's arsenal, is among one of the greatest songs I've ever listened to. Not only does it sound like a heart-strung rock song, it looks even higher to explain itself in a complex manner: unlike other Saliva songs, which are told from a linear perspective where two people break up via unfortunate passing, abandonment, or by betrayal of cheating, "Rest In Pieces" is told in a reverse pattern, where self-sorrow and guilt towards one's actions come into play. It's about someone who admits there's a problem within the relationship between both lovers, and that he/she doesn't want to end it themselves because they're scared. So he/she wants their significant other to point out their flaws and let them go, thereby letting them "rest in pieces". "Would you find it in your heart to make this go away, and let me rest in pieces?" Depressing and staggeringly effective, "Rest In Pieces" puts everything on the line to deliver Saliva's most top-notch pathos-insensed song of all time.
