Sonisphere 2014: 10 Reasons It's Going To Be Festival Of The Year

8. Metalheads + The Prodigy = Mayhem

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u295D-Qn8uM Picture the muddiness and grassiness of a typical festival field. It's nighttime and the days about to end. Now imagine the closing band is The Prodigy, who are without doubt one of the most hectic live acts that it's possible to witness. Your mental picture changed a bit there didn't it? Sonisphere is known to most people as a horn-raising, head-banging metal fest, that showcases the heavier end of the rock music spectrum. Although The Prodigy are considered by most to be a 'dance' or 'electro' act, no one could argue that they're not as abrasive, frantic and heavy as the other two headliners beside them. One of the best things about The Prodigy's 2012 Download Festival headliner was the reaction of certain members of the crowd. Clans of hairy blokes with illegible death metal logos on their t-shirts could be found with their middle fingers raised towards the stage at the start of the bands set. However, as time passed through 'Breathe', 'Omen', 'Voodoo People' and 'Firestarter', these same guys began to nod to the beat, shuffle their feet and eventually explode into a full-on rave for the first time in their lives. Expect a repeat of this hilarity on Friday night at Sonisphere, where Keith Flint and co. will initiate yet another whirlwind of utter carnage.
