5. The Prodigy
Instagram/TheProdigyOfficialIt's somewhat strange to think that not so long ago the dance group with bags of swagger were considered an odd choice to head-line rock festivals, but with both Download and Sonisphere under their belts now, and a growing profile as a live (and not just in tents) act, those concerns seem ridiculous now. Once more the British trio of Liam, Maxim and Keith proved any and all naysayers wrong through experience. Yes, those who didn't stick around for the eye-blisteringly loud set can still probably hold on to their vain claims that Metallica just aren't part of the metal scene, but all complaints in front of the stage evaporated very quickly as the band negotiated their Greatest Hits in a slick, accomplished set. It's pretty easy to forget that the Firestarters have been at the top of their game for 24 years, but the gloss on the rave-driven, mosh-encouraging set, with its impressive laser show and barking calls to action speaks of a band who know their material, and know even unfamiliar crowds.
