The Beatles: 13 Tracks To Forget
11. When I Get Home
Ugh. There is nothing more than I would love to never have to listen to this song for the rest of my life. The second half of the A Hard Day's Night album features excellent tracks like Things We Said Today and You Can't Do That, but the lads royally dropped the ball with this song.
From the clunky harmonies that open the song's refrain to lyrics like "I'm gonna love her till the cows come home," this song is the worst kind of mess. It's glaringly obvious that this was just a filler track needed to help complete the 14-song quota.
The shifting from major to minor keys is a technique that can work under the right circumstances, but this wasn't one of those times. The sooner we forget about this song, the better.
