The Beatles: 13 Tracks To Forget
10. Every Little Thing
Beatles For Sale was the first time the band really started to break out of its comfort zone. The record features great efforts like Eight Days A Week and I'm A Loser, but Every Little Thing cannot be placed into the same category.
What we have here is another sappy love song by Lennon that doesn't really seem to have a direction. Even the use of timpani in the chorus is overshadowed by the fact that the song is just, well, boring.
It's not even clear who or what Lennon is trying to channel in this song. When push comes to shove, it's just a number that doesn't work. Nothing more, nothing less.
